Pilates helps to stabilize the ligaments around the pelvis and spine allowing for adjustments to hold longer and helping to eliminate chronic back pain. Because Pilates is a mind body exercise it also builds cognitive awareness around body mechanics even when you are not doing Pilates. This stability and awareness can help to heal old injuries and prevent new ones from happening.
